Children and Youth

Creating a safe, nurturing space for children and empowering the youth.

The Program for Children and Youth ensures that every SM Mall is a safe, nurturing space for children while empowering the youth to play an active role in community and nation-building. Key initiatives include the Global Youth Summit and Book Nook, a dedicated space that fosters a love for reading and learning.

Our partners include the Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Global Peace Foundation, UNICEF Philippines, and National Youth Commission, amongst others.

Program Highlights

Global Youth Summit

The Global Youth Summit (GYS) is an annual gathering organized by SM Cares and the Global Peace Foundation (GPF), aiming to equip young leaders with the knowledge and skills to tackle pressing global issues. In 2024, the 12th GYS traversed 17 provinces across the Philippines, culminating in a grand finale at the Mall of Asia Arena, which drew over 24,000 young leaders. The summit featured inspiring speakers that are experts in their respective fields.

SM Cares

Book Nook

An open community hub located on the third level of SM Aura and fifth level of SM Podium, the Book Nook offers a cozy space where parents and children can bond over books, workshops and activities. Encouraging visitors to read, donate, and swap books, thereby fostering a love for literature and community engagement.

SM Cares

Empowering Communities

For over 20 years, SM Cares has supported communities. Now, we're taking it a step further—empowering communities to create sustainable, inclusive, and thriving environments for all.
